Students are finishing their Pet Portraits

Students have been studying artist Mark Durham http://www.markdurhamstudio.com

and his "Pet Portraits". They created their own using Crayola Watercolors and felt tip markers.

A Short Bio

I have been married to my best friend Ray for over 35 years and am a blessed mother of three incredible young men, Justin, Joshua, and Jordan. I have always loved painting, crafting, interior design, and technology. I graduated from Indian River State College with a degree in Interior Design, but quickly realized I wanted to spend my time helping children to explore the gift of creativity that God has given to all of us.

In addition to sharing my love for art and technology with children, I also wanted to share my love for Christ with them. This led me to Moody Bible Institute Distance Learning Program. I graduated with a BS degree in Biblical Studies. My love for learning continued to increase and once again I enrolled in an online program. I am currently pursuing a MA in Art Education through the University of Florida. Go Gators!

I began teaching children art in 1996, holding small weekly classes for homeschool students and writing a monthly computer software review for a homeschooling newsletter. In 1999, I started working as the art teacher at First Baptist Christian School in Stuart, Florida. This year along with art, I am teaching computer. I love my job! I believe God has placed me where I can share my creativity and love for technology in a way that brings Him glory.
